HBF Textiles

Cork Cloth, HBF Textiles
New York designer Erin Ruby worked with the textile division of furniture maker HBF on this line of natural cork–faced upholstery and wallcoverings. Made of waste material derived from bottle-cork manufacturing in Italy, Cork Cloth is textured with holes, stains, and flecks of dark cork and is a creative alternative to leather, passing 100,000 double rubs in abrasion resistance. Stained in a choice of five earth-toned colors (slate, shown) with a knit backing, the material softens with use.

Lift, Maharam
German designer Konstantin Grcic brings his minimal, technically focused aesthetic to upholstery and wallcoverings in Lift. The polyester material comes in nine colors (Jet, shown) with a reptilian geometric gradient. Greenguard and Greenguard Gold Certified, it has abrasion resistance of more than 100,000 double rubs.

Between the Lines, Carnegie
Embossed graphic patterns add a third dimension to furniture and wall coverings in Carnegie’s solution-dyed, low-VOC, antibacterial, and stain-resistant Xorel brand bio-based interiors fabric. Between the Lines is Cradle to Cradle certified and passes 1 million double rubs. Offered in three geometric motifs—Kaleidoscope, Fractal Emboss (shown), and Fragment Emboss—which can be specified in a range of neutrals.

Inkling, Designtex
Raised dots and dashes combine in the latticed Inkling, a furniture upholstery whose subtlety suites it for a range of institutional and office uses. In 10 saturated-yet-constrained colorways (slate, shown) with a stain-repellent finish, the fabric combines rayon, pre-consumer recycled polyester, and solution-dyed nylon to achieve abrasion resistance of 100,000 double rubs.

Gem, Brentano Fabrics
A reflective satin finish makes this woven, combed-cotton-pile velvet upholstery shine. For use in high-traffic residential and hospitality applications and available in 39 colorways (Jet, right, as well as custom options, the 54" piece-dyed textile has a water-repellant finish and passes more than 50,000 double-rubs.

Island, KnollTextiles
With five upholsteries and one drapery, the Outbound Collection mixes solid colors and multi-toned, eclectic patterns. Among them is Island, a textured Sunbrella-brand upholstery (shown in kayak) for indoor and outdoor use with an antimicrobial and antifungal finish.
