The single biggest trade show focusing on the kitchen and bathroom—the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show—kicks off April 24, and expectations are high that manufacturers will come out of a four-year funk that has seen few truly innovative product developments.
“Attendees will experience a breadth of new, innovative offerings that can’t be seen anywhere else,” says the National Kitchen and Bath Association, the show’s organizer. Highlights will include the exhibit Uncontained, which will provide a look at how colliding generations are changing the rules of design; and a multimedia lounge offering attendees expert insights into the new economic and marketing environment.
A large reason for heading to the show, however, will be the new products introduction, which will include debuts of the newest offerings in some of the biggest trends in the industry, such as darker finishes on cabinets; use of more glass, especially on backsplashes; more LED lighting; and the very popular pull-out faucets.
This year, the show will group new resources from high-interest product categories into special pavilions to help exhibitors and attendees more efficiently navigate the show and meet with the companies and suppliers they want to target. The show is also welcoming back as exhibitors Sub-Zero, Wolf Range, and luxury cabinet manufacturer Poggenpohl.
