Los Angeles-designer Stephen Kenn’s first collection may be designed for style and comfort, but its chair and couch cushion covers were meant for the battlefield. The covers, crafted from repurposed World War II military canvas, are supported by a webbing of replicated Swiss-Army-issue muled  belts and a steel-welded frame in a rust-brown finish. The material is sourced from L.A. warehouses, washed to clean and soften, and constructed in conjunction with local craftsmen. The result: an aesthetically modern design element with the writing, prints, patches, and other organic insignia that hark back to a turbulent past life now at ease. Visit Stephen Kenn.com.
