Santa Monica, Calif.-based designer James de Wulf made his name designing outdoor furniture from concrete. But his latest collection takes a softer approach—literally. In Softblock, de Wulf uses lightweight materials in vibrant colors to replicate the boxlike furniture of past collections for use indoors and outdoors. The easy-to-move and kid-friendly collection includes a sofa, easy chair, chaise longue, and an ottoman—all with removable covers that are machine-washable and UV-resistant. The cushions are made of non-absorbent, high-density foam, with softer memory foam used in the seating, reclining areas, and arm rests. The furniture’s underside is made from mildew-resistant, awning-grade material. The collection comes in 10 standard fabric colors and patterns. James de Wulf, www.jamesdewulf.com; 31.0315.7100.
