Zibo Mixed-Use

Zibo China

MulvannyG2 Architecture

Project Description

In a mixed-use development, relationships and attraction are what dictate success. Located in the transportation hub of Zibo, China, the Zibo Mixed-Use Development draws shoppers through an exciting array of retail, office, and residences. The mall layout engages the surrounding city with exciting LED screens and a feature entrance court that serves as a gathering and event space. Inside, cascading cross-bridges and escalators visually pull shoppers upward, making traveling through the mall a seamless experience. Outside, the media wall combines two of the biggest trends in facade architecture—solar energy and media walls. These walls behave like an organic system, absorbing solar energy during the day to power LED videos at night. Sustainable features include the reuse of grey water, controlling runoff, rain water retention, and green roofs. Overall this development presents a high-tech, eco-friendly addition to Zibo.
