Project Description

To meet census demands, Montefiore needed to expand outpatient infusion services at their Medical Office Building in Bronx, NY. Ambulatory Oncology services already had space on the first floor, and a large suite was available on the second floor – with enough capacity to accommodate the necessary USP 797-compliant pharmacy.

Array renovated both the new and occupied space in phases. The new space, open in spring 2014, provides 20 infusion bays with direct sight lines from the nurse station, amenities for both patient and a guest as well as a comfortable waiting space. The chemo-mixing pharmacy has direct access to the infusion suite and provides for five fume hoods, in two clean rooms, to turn the medication orders around quickly. Renovations to the occupied space, as well as adding four new infusion stations providing the same level of finishes as the new space, began as soon as the new space was complete.

The new 20,000 SF Oncology Department is spacious and offers abundant natural light through large windows. Each infusion station provides both privacy with custom designed casework and decorative resin panels on each side, as well as an open, connected feeling with views to the nurse station and room for a guest chair.
