After designing buildings and campus plans for Duke University Medical Center over many years, Cooper, Robertson was asked to design an expansion to Duke’s Cancer Center concurrent with a major addition to the nearby North Hospital. The Center is at the north end of the Duke Clinic, also designed by Cooper, Robertson, and an extension of the outpatient campus but will be directly connected to the inpatient campus via a new 2-story concourse. The building will include infusion, radiation oncology, clinical exam suites, faculty office and support space, a brain/neuro clinic, labs, a pharmacy, and reception areas. Major spaces will have visual access to the gardens and ample daylight provided by a central atrium. All major spaces have at least visual access to the gardens and ample daylight provided by a central atrium.
