Project Description

Doylestown Hospital is among the last independent community hospitals in the greater Philadelphia area. It is largely known for its quality of care and innovative approach to medical advancement. When Doylestown was interested in expanding its oncology program, it partnered with world-renowned University of Pennsylvania Health System to develop an addition to their state-of-the-art outpatient care pavilion on the Hospital’s campus.

The addition accommodates the radiation oncology program, as well as physician practices and infusion. The radiotherapy suite includes exam and consultation rooms, a linear accelerator vault, simulation room, patient changing & gowned waiting and image processing space.
Array provided a series of studies dealing with impacted portions of the campus as a result of the new addition. Inpatient access to the radiotherapy suite was examined, as the preferred interior route was not code compliant. Additional studies on the building footprint’s impact on parking, University of Pennsylvania Health System / Doylestown signage, and new entrance logistics were also included in the design study.
