Project Description

Dock’s Oyster House, a family-owned restaurant that dates back to 1897, is one of Atlantic City’s oldest establishments. The popular oyster bar had outgrown their space, and needed to revamp their dining room and bar to accommodate their growing clientele. SOSH Architects and Lynn Gaffney teamed up to deliver a remarkable renovation and expansion to the landmark restaurant. The project delivered much needed space by adding an entirely new 3-story building to the existing structure. The bar was expanded to encompass most of the current dining room, which includes a raw bar and piano bar. Seating capacity doubled with dining on two floors, including a 60-seat private dining room on the second level. The project also provided an expanded state-of-the-art kitchen. The architectural and interior design honored the historic charm of the nearly 120-year-old establishment by blending the classic oyster bar feel with the upscale dining and maritime touches that Dock's fans have enjoyed over the years.
