Designer Patricia Urquiola’s Tatou for FLOS mimics antique Japanese armor while taking the French word for the ‘armadillo.’ The lamp’s woven shade mimics the animal’s protective shell but instead of its small spikes, the lamp directs light through its perforations as well as upwards and downwards. Tatou is available in floor, table, and suspension models in two different sizes. The shades come in white, black, or plum colors and the bases in white, black, metallic shaded pink.
