Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee is putting the spotlight on the British monarch. But to what extent are royal leading ladies remembered once their reigns are up? A commentary on the collective memory’s ability to forget the minutiae of individual identity, New-York-City-based Trove’s “August” wall covering pattern features photographed portraits of past queens of Denmark, Japan, Greece, Prussia, Italy, and India, repeated on 12-foot-tall-by-six-foot-wide patterns and are available in five color palates. The company’s spring collection also includes the double-helix Chroma and the Otium, which recalls microfiche slides featuring images of broken umbrellas, eggshells, and animal skeletons, both repeated on 12-foot-by-6-foot patterns. All three designs are available on all of the company’s substrates, including the new matte foil wallpaper, SILVER, and use non-toxic, wax-based coatings and archival inks.
