New members of the U.S. Green Building Council’s 2011 board of directors, elected late in 2010, have been announced. Both elected and appointed seats make up the 20-member board. Those elected to positions serve three-year terms, and those appointed serve two-year terms.

Elizabeth J. Heider, AIA, LEED AP, senior vice president of preconstruction and National Green Council chair, Skanska USA Building, will take the Constructor of Buildings seat and was elected chair-elect by the board. (bio) 

Kirsten Ritchie, LEED AP+ (O+M) principal/director of sustainable design, Asia/Pacific region, Gensler, was elected to fill the Green Building Educator seat. (bio)

Walter Cuculic, founder, Green Your Home Consulting, will fill the Home Builder seat on the board. (bio)

Elizabeth Whalen, CalAg, will fill the Product Manufacturer Executive seat. (bio)

Ann Archino Howe, PE, LEED AP, owner, Sustainable Design Studio, was elected to fill the Site Designer seat. (bio) 

Dennis Maloskey, director of sustainable engineering and development, Pennsylvania Governor’s Green Government Council, will fill the State and Local Government Employee seat. (bio)

Mark MacCracken, CEO of CALMAC Manufacturing Corp., will serve as 2011 chair (bio); Tim Cole, director of environmental initiatives and product development, North America, for Forbo Flooring Systems, is now the immediate past chair (bio). The new board elected directors to fill two appointed seats: Carlton Brown, founding partner and CEO, Full Spectrum of NY, will fill the Green Affordable Housing seat (bio), and Majora Carter, president, the Majora Carter Group, will fill the Sustainable Communities seat (bio). The board also elected Punit Jain, vice president, Cannon Design, as secretary (bio).
