REGREEN is a program from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the U.S. Green Building Council that provides third-party certification for green residential remodeling projects. The ASID recently produced a workshop to instruct members and other designers on how to interpret and implement REGREEN guidelines, especially with regard to residential interiors. The all-day course is also the main prerequisite for the new REGREEN Trained certification.
This workshop and the REGREEN Trained designation aim to help designers identify and evaluate which sustainable features and techniques will make the greatest positive impact, according to organizers. Sustainable design consultant and author Annette K. Stelmack, LEED AP BD+C, Allied ASID, will teach the course, which premieres at the High Point Market in High Point, N.C., on Oct. 17. The workshop will also be presented during Greenbuild in San Francisco on Nov. 12. Additional offerings will be scheduled throughout 2013.
