This rendering depicts the new metal and glass stairs, which appear to float free of the walls of the statue, keeping the structure's original support girders untouched. Critical and emergency systems such as sprinklers and lighting are installed beneath the stairs, with major mechanical equipment situated in a modern space at the base of the pedestal.
Mills Schnoering Architects used Autodesk Revit to build BIM models of the interior of the Statue of Liberty. This point cloud shows the former stairs, elevator, and other elements contained within the historic Eiffel infrastructure.
This 3-D image derived from a point cloud shows new structural elements as they pass through the historic Eiffel structure.
