Elliptical skylights throughout what is essentially a single 65,000-square-foot room create gentle, full-spectrum illumination for the viewing of artworks. This 35-unit luxury residential building in Greenwich Village accommodates both zoning laws and its neighborhood context using stepped volumes and an undulating glazed façade that reflects its immediate surroundings.
The Ford Assembly Building, Richmond, Calif.—designed by Marcy Wong Donn Logan Architects, Berkeley, Calif. This long-vacant and decaying auto plant along the San Francisco Bay waterfront was restored and converted into a 500,000-square-foot venue housing public events, restaurant/retail space, and offices.
