The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Housing and Custom Residential Knowledge Community is accepting entries for the "Show How You Re-Green: Green Housing Awards Program." Architects, developers, owners, and builders are invited to submit United States-based sustainably remodeled residential projects that retain at least 50 percent of the original structure, significantly reduce the resources used, increase indoor environmental quality, and improve performance.
Renovation, remodel, and rehab entries may include affordable, single-family, and multifamily housing, as well as adaptive reuse and mixed-use projects. Entrants must provide verifiable "before" and "after" data of the project's performance. The entry deadline is Sept. 3, 2009. Winning projects will be honored at the 2010 AIA National Convention Housing Awards Reception in Miami, June 10–12, 2010.
