The Portland Museum of Art in Portland, Maine, is showcasing Frank Lloyd Wright's skill in harmonizing architecture with interior design in its exhibition Frank Lloyd Wright and the House Beautiful. The exhibit opened in June and runs through Oct. 8. This is the fifth stop on its nationwide tour.

On display are more than 100 original objects—including furniture, metalwork, textiles, drawings, publications, and accessories—that exemplify Wright's decorative and graphic designs. The exhibit is divided into the three themes by which Wright approached the "House Beautiful" philosophy; each section features period and contemporary photographs of Wright interiors to provide context for the original items displayed.

The exhibit is curated by Dr. Virginia T. Boyd of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After its run at the Portland Museum of Art, Frank Lloyd Wright and the House Beautiful will travel to the Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Okla.
