Insulated framing lumber

Submit A Comment | View Comments

Back in the day, we used to sandwich a piece of rigid insulation inside headers in exterior walls. That was good practice, but it didn't address the thermal bridging occurring at every other framing member. This does. Framing lumber with a longitudinal thermal break seems like a great idea. Has anyone out there used it? If so, please drop a line with your impressions. --Bruce D. Snider
