Back in September 2008, ra reported on the donation of a Frank Gehry-designed guest house originally built in Wayzata, Minn., and its relocation 75 miles away to the campus of the University of St. Thomas in Owatonna, Minn. The unique house, comprised of six different segments (and shapes) had to be disassembled section by section to make the move.

We posted updates and work-in-progress photos in June 2009 as disassembled house sections were loaded onto flatbed trucks and slowly moved off the original site. After most of the house sections had been moved, work stalled last October due to Minnesota's wintry weather.

But work has finally resumed! The last pieces were delivered to the new site, and reassembly of the Winton Guest House began late in June. The University of St. Thomas' Daniel C. Gainey Conference Center, the new home of the Winton Guest House, has created a Facebook page where progress updates are regularly posted. Visit the Center's Facebook page and browse through its Gehry House photo album for the latest updates.
