new president for a+d museum
|
In the sad aftermath of the death of Stephen Kanner, FAIA, president and co-founder of L.A.'s A+D Museum, the museum's board was confronted with the task of electing a new president. They chose Tom Hinerfeld, president and founder of Hinerfeld-Ward Inc., one of the area's best general contractors. Hinerfeld has been closely involved with the museum since its beginnings, and he recently oversaw the construction of its first permanent home, which opened in April. When I spoke with him earlier this week, he used a construction metaphor to describe the task of leading the previously nomadic museum in its new, rent-paying phase. "We've got a great foundation," he said. "Now we need to finish the infrastructure."--m.d.
