iPhone Apps for Architects and Builders

There is no end to stream of cool (in concept, at least) and
(potentially) useful applications for the iPhones so many of us carry
around in our pockets. Here is a batch aimed at architects, builders, and other construction tradespeople.
Architecture Basic is the perfect tool
for any Architect. This program contains over 100 formulas helpful for
architect. Major sections of the program include Acoustics, Beams,
Concrete and Excavating, Concrete Design, Design, Plates, Shear ,
Steel, Structural, Swimming and Wood formulas. There are also sections
with Area Formulas and Conversion. The program includes special
formulas just for architect for concrete and steel design, parking area
and sidewalk design and even swimming pool design. The program includes
basic formulas for wind load and wind overturning force.
Carpentry
Formulator Pro combines the formulas of Carpentry Fomulator and adds 10
charts as well as the first part of International Building Code- which
is incorporated in almost every US state code. The program will be
updated over the year to include the full code as well as state
variants. The program also contains over 80 formulas that are useful
for carpenters and builders. The program loads on walls, loads on
header. It calculates the weights of different pipes. The program also
calculates the final temperature when two bodies of water are mixed. It
calculates Hardwood Flooring, calculations on Board Feet and Lumber
conversions. It calculates the number of Joists, Sheet Rock, Concrete
and Asphalt needed. The program has special sections on Roofing and
Stairs. The Carpentry formula has various formulas to calculate area
and volumes of differing shapes. The program also includes dozens of
conversions from everything from square feet to square inches to pounds
square inches to feet of water.
