The Washington, D.C., chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA|DC) reminds registered architects, landscape architects, planners, interior designers, associate architects, and architecture students in the Washington metropolitan region that the deadline for the 2010 Washington UNBUILT Awards is fast approaching. The last day submissions will be accepted is June 30. Entries will be judged during the last week in July, and the winners will be announced at DesignDC on Aug. 3.
The competition was conceived to recognize excellence in projects that are to date unbuilt, whether designed as theoretical exercise, as part of an academic program, or for other purposes. Unbuilt architectural designs of any type are eligible in two categories: Unbuilt Theoretical and Unbuilt Commissioned. There are no restrictions on an unbuilt design's intended geographic or other location. All digital submissions must be registered and received in the AIA|DC's offices by June 30.
Visit the Washington UNBUILT competition website for complete entry details.
