, Rockhill’s design and education endeavors have long been lauded by our editors as well as his design peers.
“His Kansas-based firm, Rockhill and Associates, is tightly bound to the milieu and culture of the local region,” states the awards committee, which went on to commend Rockhill’s “Spartan aesthetics, frugal methods, and relationship to nature.” The other finalist is Seattle-based Weiss/Manfredi, and New York’s Architecture Research Office is the 2011 winner.
