Architect Joan Goody, FAIA, who died on Sept. 8, 2009, will be recognized by the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for her lifetime commitment to housing and community design with the 2009 Ratensky Lecture on November 12. Goody's longtime partner and principal-in-charge of planning and urban design at Goody Clancy & Associates, David Dixon, FAIA, will present the 2009 Ratensky Lecture in her honor. Dixon is the recipient of the 2007 AIA Thomas Jefferson Award and co-author of Urban Design for an Urban Century.
Dixon will be joined during the lecture by Sherida Paulsen, FAIA, president of the AIA New York (AIA NY) Chapter; Rick Bell, FAIA, executive director of AIA NY; Wids DeLaCour, AIA, co-chair, AIA NY Housing Committee, and Theodore Liebman, FAIA, principal of Perkins Eastman.
